With the opening of the new Custom, Immigration and Quarantine (CIQ) Complex building in Johor Bahru, more Singaporeans are considering visiting neighboring Johor Bahru city in Malaysia.
The most common topic over coffee and online forums are always mooted on the fact that J.B.(Johor Bahru) is an unsafe place.
Besides the good food and cheap petrol in J.B. we often hear stories of stolen vehicles, burglaries, mugging, kidnapping and rapes.
The most appalling recent report about a young couple being robbed after being rammed by another vehicle also caused fears among travelers to J.B.
The victims were kidnapped and taken to a secluded place where the male victim was forced to witness his girlfriend being gang raped.
Many online forummers equate the raise in crime rates largely to the fact that the police in J.B are still ineffective in maintaining the crime rates and do not provide the necessary confidence and sense of security in the city.
This is a nice spoof on the movie: City of Angels (1998) Directed by Brad Silberling.
Will J.B. become the City of Criminals?
We hope not.
Now Showing: City of Criminals
